Caves are one of the last true wilderness.
When visiting a cave, care must be taken to reduce
the impact we all have on the fragile environment.
As a quote from the NSS states:
Take nothing but pictures, Leave nothing but
footprints, Kill nothing but time.
Caving is also an inherently dangerous sport activity.
Proper training and instruction is required.
Caving equipment should include:
Helmet
Light (3 sources, 1 being helmet mounted)
Batteries for lights
Boots or appropriate footwear.
Backpack
Drinking water and food.(snacks)
Knee/Elbow pads
This is not a complete list, Just a good starting point.
